2013 - Oracle Java Updates
& New Security Dialogs
In
response to security threats
identified earlier in 2013,
Oracle has released two new Java
updates - Java SE 6 Update 45,
and Java SE 7 Update 21.
Before updating Java, we are
asking all customers to contact
us so that we can ensure
you are running the optimal
combination of Java, eQuinox,
and infrastructure versions for
your firm's configuration.
Additionally,
with the Java SE updates, end
users will encounter new
security dialog boxes. For
more information regarding these
dialog boxes, please refer to
the following document.

21, 2013 - Oracle Java
Updates
In
order to ensure optimal
security, eQx Systems is
recommending that as of
today’s date, February 21,
2013, all eQuinox Version
6.0 customers confirm that
they are running Java
6 Update 40 or later.
Please note that Java 7 is
not yet certified with
Oracle Forms and Reports,
and we therefore do
not advise upgrading
beyond the most recent
update of Java 6.
According to The US-CERT
Team, Update 40 or later
addresses all known
security vulnerabilities
in the Java Runtime
Environment.

64-Bit
eQuinox
Version 6.0 is now being
delivered as a 64-bit program.
The most recent release is
running on 64-bit Oracle
Weblogic 11g R2 (10.3.5), 64-bit
Oracle Database
(11.2.0.3), with Oracle
Forms and Reports Version
11.1.2.
